The lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic was often followed by an upload. A kind of flare, a silent, hopeful: "I'm still here!" while we are stranded in our own four walls waiting for community. The fact that uploads on sites such as TikTok, Instagram and the like represent a different space to reality is no stranger to anyone. Nevertheless, it is these spaces of longing that make us wish we could turn back time.

The virtual exhibition shows works that were created as part of the seminar "DAS VIRTUELLE BILD" ("the virtual image") at the "Painting - Digital & Expanded Painting" department of the Institute of Art and Material Culture at TU Dortmund University. In this seminar, the students used the 3D software "Blender" to translate their existing paintings into three-dimensional space or create new painterly environments.

On display are the works of Jan Bockholt, Julia Hauke, Alexander Krüger, Carolin Maaßmann, Katja Mudraya, Jan Ott, Pascal Paschke, Katharina Radcenko and Aron Schmidtke.
