GEDANKEN GÄNGE
In the 2019/20 winter semester, painting students at TU Dortmund University's Department of Art and Art Studies developed and implemented a design concept for the walls of three spacious corridors in Alfred-Gundlach-Haus, the former building of the Dortmund Social Academy, which is now home to TU Dortmund University's Center for Higher Education, combining the history of the building with a look into the future.Inspired and encouraged by murals previously created by painting students, Professor Jens Rowold from the Center for Higher Education suggested the artistic design of publicly accessible functional rooms in the Alfred-Gundlach-Haus.

A publication on the Gedanken Gänge project has appeared in the Dortmunder Schriften zur Kunst, Kataloge und Essays series.
It contains texts by Tillmann Damrau, Sonja Hnilica, Jens Rowold, Jörg Teichert, Barbara Welzel and Pia Zölzer. Pia Zölzer was responsible for the design and Mareile Zimmermann took the photos for the catalog.
