Rundgang Kunst (Annual Exhibition)
Each year, at the end of the summer semester’s lecture period, the exhibition Rundgang Kunst of TU Dortmund University presents outstanding artistic works by students in the fields of photography, graphic art, painting, and sculpture. This exhibition provides a platform for students to showcase their artworks and research to a broader public within an institutional framework.
For many years, Rundgang Kunst has garnered significant public attention and critical acclaim, as evidenced by its consistently high visitor numbers and extensive media coverage. In conjunction with the exhibition, a professional jury awards the TU Dortmund University Art Prizes in the four disciplines represented. These prizes honor exceptional artistic projects developed and realized in the studios of the Academy of Fine Arts. Additionally, the Rectorate of TU Dortmund University confers the Edition Prize.
The exhibited works engage with diverse perceptions of reality, exploring shifts in perspective and the selective framing of what moves and concerns us. They reflect contemporary, everyday experience and strive to reveal and construct connections.
Through experimental approaches, media hybridity, and diverse exhibition formats, the students’ works challenge prevailing conventions, norms, clichés, and certainties, making them perceptible in the first place. Pixels, pigments, lines, forms, film, devices, sound, and other media are employed to create structures that engage viewers in multifaceted dialogues. Art, in this context, requires attentive differentiation and a willingness to discover.
All interested members of the public are warmly invited to experience the students’ remarkable work firsthand.
Admission is free.
